Foods to Avoid

Carbonated Beverages


Coffee, Tea


Fruit Juices


Chocolate


Nuts and Popcorn


Uncooked vegetables


Lettuce


Spicy food, especially peppers and black pepper


Red meat


Milk, ice cream, and custards


Raw fruits


No aspirin, no smoking

Foods Allowed

Water, broth, wine, decaffeinated coffee, Hawaiian Punch, Tang

Cooked vegetables, except onions, cabbage and cauliflower

Bread, rice, plain pasta, potatoes and cereals


Poultry, fish, and lamb


Hard cheese or yogurt in small quantities


Raw spinach


Cooked, canned and citrus fruits and bananas are fine
















Try to adhere to the diet for 5-7 days.  If symptoms improve or go away, you may begin to add back the items from column 1, one item each day.  If you notice that a particular item brings back symptoms, you know you will have to avoid that food in the future.
