Our Providers

Dr. Eric M. Ward was born in Jacksonville, Florida.  After graduating with honors from the University of Florida with a degree in Zoology he attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Ward completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.  During his time at Mayo, Dr. Ward received the Resident Research Award and the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award.  He has presented the results of numerous research studies at regional and national scientific meetings and has co-authored multiple articles published in the gastroenterology literature.  His professional interests include liver disease, capsule endoscopy, and endoscopic ultrasound.  He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

After Completing his training, Dr. ward joined Valdosta Gastroenterology Associates in 2004.  

Dr. ward is married to Krekoria Ward and they have three children.


Dr. C. Allen Woods, a native of Fitzgerald, Georgia, received his undergraduate degree from Valdosta State University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia where he was a recipient of the Merck Manual Award which recognizes the top 10 medical school graduates. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA., and then his gastroenterology fellowship at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. During his fellowship he was honored as the top GI fellow in the nation by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

He started his practice in Valdosta in 1988 and is the founding partner of VGA/VEC.  He has published several research and review articles, most notably in the journal Gastroenterology.  Dr. Woods is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.  Along with GI bleeding intervention, colon cancer screening and treating esophageal disorders, he also specializes in the treatment of pancreatic and biliary disorders through Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

Dr. Woods is married to the former Sally Bentley and they have four children. He enjoys spending his free time in the woods hunting.


Kathryn Coleman Watt, NP-C, a native of Valdosta, Georgia, joined Valdosta Gastroenterology Associates in 2007.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in 2004.  In 2006, she received a Master of Science in Nursing from Emory University. She was certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2007.  She is a member of United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  Kathryn is married to Hansell Watt and they have two children.
