Our Mission

Our mission at Valdosta Gastroenterology Associates (VGA) and Valdosta Endoscopy Center (VEC) is to provide the highest quality, affordable healthcare designed to meet the needs of our surrounding community.

Office Hours & Appointments

Hours:  We see patients by appointment only.  However, we try to be flexible for urgent patient needs.  We schedule office appointments between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.  We make every effort to stay on time however, emergencies sometimes delay our doctors.  We will try to inform you of delays as soon as we can. 

Referrals:  Many of our patients are referred by their primary physician or specialist for evaluation and treatment.  Our doctors work closely with referring physicians and provide them feedback on a regular basis.  Some insurance companies require a referral from the patient’s primary care physician before they can be seen by a specialist.  Check with your insurance company for their requirements.

Cancellation:  In order to avoid a $25.00 cancellation/no-show fee, please notify our office at least 24 hours before your scheduled office visit if you will be unable to keep your appointment.  This cancellation fee is not covered by your insurance.  The no-show fee for a procedure is $100.00.

Telephone Calls

Routine Calls:  Our staff can assist you if you call between 8:30a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and on Friday’s 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.  If you are unable to reach a staff member, please leave a message.  If you call 1 hour before the end of our hours of operation, we will make every effort to return your call that same day.  Please state your name clearly, the reason for your call and a number for us to return your call.

Prescriptions:  If you need a prescription refill, please contact your pharmacy and ask them to contact us directly.  If it has been 12 months or more since your last office visit, an office appointment may be required before a refill can be made.

Emergencies:  One of our doctors is available for “after hour” emergencies Monday through Thursday and Friday until noon (except for holidays).  For weekends and holidays, our doctors share call with other board certified gastroenterologists.  For after hour emergencies please call 229-333-1000. 


For your convenience, Solstas Laboratories has a drawing station in our office with a phlebotomist who can draw blood and collect specimens for lab tests.  Please allow 7-10 days before calling for the results of your lab work.  We’ll let you know as soon as possible, of course, if the results are abnormal.  You can also review your results through our Patient Portal.  You can join the portal by providing us with your email address.  You will then get an invitation by email.

Financial & Insurance

We participate in most health insurance plans and programs.  This is a listing of some of the major insurance companies with which we participate but it is not a complete list. You should contact your insurance company or we will do our best to contact them for you to verify coverage.

We are happy to file your insurance for you for all services.  You are responsible for all deductibles and co-payments at the time of service.  Please present all current insurance cards when signing in at each visit.  Medications or refills cannot be called in without current cards.  We also offer uninsured rates for our services.  Please contact us for details.

Our office takes cash, checks or all major credit cards for payment.  You can also make a payment through our convenient Patient Portal with a credit card.  All unpaid charges over 90 days will be “delinquent” and may be subject to collection by a special agency.  Please see our Financial Policy for more details.

Any services performed at VEC or Solstas Laboratories are billed separately from and in addition to VGA.

Our New Patient Portal is now online!  Powered by Azalea Health Innovations, this new portal provides all of our patients with timely access to their medical records using a web based, secure and HIPPA compliant site.  You can even access it from your smart phone!
